Join us for the 2018 Brazos Bend Christmas Bird Count at Long Point Ranch.

The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is a long-standing program of the National Audubon Society and is an early winter bird census, where thousands of volunteers across the country go out over a 24-hour period on one calendar day to count birds in their local area.

Each count takes place in an established 15-mile wide diameter circle and is organized by a count compiler. Count volunteers will take a count of all birds they see or hear throughout the day. It's not just a species tally—all birds are counted giving an indication of the total number of birds in the perimeter that day.

Birders of all ages and experiences are welcome.

Must registration prior to event. Registration is now open online at Should you wish to join us at Long Point Ranch for the count, please list JBH Long Point in the comments section when registering online.

Further details will be emailed to you upon registration online.
