Scout Merit Badge Workshops

In collaboration with local area BSA Merit Badge Counselors, The James B Harrison Foundation is excited to offer seasonal opportunities for BSA Scout Merit Badge Workshops.

These workshops are open to registered and active BSA Scouts and are free to attend; however, Scouts must pre-register to reserve their spot as capacity for these workshops is limited. Registration for each workshop opens the month prior to the workshop date. These outdoor merit badge workshops consist of classroom discussion, nature-based activities (short bird or nature hikes), and a merit badge project.

All merit badge workshops will require some “pre-work” that Scouts must complete prior to attending the in-person workshop, this also includes reading the merit badge pamphlet.

Most merit badges were not designed to be completed in a single session but with pre-work assigned and the cooperation of Nature, it is our goal to complete all merit badge requirements during the course of these workshops. In the event that Nature or Weather does not cooperate, Scouts will be provided with instructions on how to complete any outstanding requirements or “post-work.”

Troops interested in scheduling a Troop Merit Badge Workshop, please contact us for more information.
